Facilitation & Consensus
Facilitation
We have two main roles we play: we train facilitators and we act as “outside facilitators”.
What we do:
- offer the neutral presence of a skilled outside facilitator to get through conflicts and create a plan for moving on
- train you to be able to keep things on track without shutting people down (among other skills)
- help name and resolve dynamics that seem insurmountable
- offer clear, knowledgeable guidance through common (and not-so-common) struggles to work well together
- shepherd large, complex decisions and strategic planning
- teach you how to design meetings for fun and productivity
- teach you techniques to make clear and diminish the impact of negative power dynamics
See our calendar for our facilitation training schedule or contact us to inquire about having us come to you.
Consensus Decision-making Training
What we do:
- help shift your organizational culture toward better listening and cooperation
- teach you how to listen for agreement and value a wide range of input
- help you get decisions that everyone can honestly get behind to eliminate sabatogue and lack of real enthusiasm
- address common myths about consensus to help you sell it to your group
Consensus has been around for longer than Robert’s Rules, and it is grounded in a more cooperative culture than the mainstream of the US. Consensus maximizes individual voices while caring for the group good. We can dispell myths about consensus and give your group good training. Plus we teach “Guerilla Consensus” which can bring a Consensus Attitude to any meeting. We can also help diagnose and retrain groups who are currently using consensus ineffectively.
See the calendar page for consensus training schedule, or contact us to see what we can do for your group in-house.
